For this you need to analyse a range of related graphic design work created for media products. Your analysis should cover the following areas:

a) Purpose - what is the purpose of the product? How is it being used? You will need to explain the difference between a DVD cover and a Cinema Poster or an advert on the side of a bus.

b) Format - This means how is the graphic design work formatted. Is it Portrait/Landscape? Is it on the side of a bus or an A6 Postcard. You need to be specific about the sizing and the differences between formats and the issues that this poses.
c) Content - What is the content of the design work and what does it mean? This must be more detailed than just describing what we can see and should clearly say what it means and how it relates to the product.
d) Style - This is to do with the style of the graphic design work. Is it a photo? Is it a painted picture? Is it abstract? You should be able to identify the style used and be able to say what you think it adds to the overall impact of the work. Does it reference any other work in a similar genre? Why might is do this?
e) Layout - How is the work laid out? What is in the foreground/midground/background? Are there any restrictions related to the layout? Size, shape etc...
f ) Target audience - Who is the target audience for the product? How does it appeal to the target audience? How can you make justify these points?
g) Regulatory bodies - What regulatory bodies are involved in the product? BBFC/ASA? Be specific and explain why these bodies are involved.
